The catalytic converter
of the gasoline engine is a three way catalyst. It oxidizes carbon
monoxide and hydrocarbons (HC), and separates oxygen from the oxides of
nitrogen (NOx).
There are two types of
three-way catalyst; Palette type and Monolith type.
